Thank You PTO! We Love the New Library Books!
The Eisenhower PTO generously donated $4000 last spring to improve the library collection at Eisenhower School. We were able to add 195 new, eye-catching books to our library. These books were added to the Everybody section and the Non-fiction sections of the library. Students have been very excited to check out the new books this fall. Thanks so much for improving our library collection and inspiring a love for reading!

Eisenhower Team Wins District Battle of the Books!
A team of 5th grade students from Eisenhower Elementary School received the traveling trophy for winning the Dubuque Community School District’s Battle of the Books at Carver Elementary School on May 11. After winning the Eisenhower School Battle of the Books a couple weeks earlier, they represented their school against teams from twelve of the other district elementary schools to earn their title. Members of the winning team include:
Haley Palm, Kenzie Rath, Ilana Stolze, Jack Stierman, Zoe Seipp, and Kimberly Denlinger (alternate).
Eisenhower School Earns EPA ENERGY STAR Certification!
The Dubuque Community School district announced that Eisenhower is one of the 12 district buildings that have earned the Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR Certification. This recognition is presented to the most energy efficient buildings in the country.
To earn ENERGY STAR Certification, buildings must rate in the top 25 percent nationwide for energy efficiency and meet ventilation standards. Dubuque Community Schools has the 4th most ENERGY STAR certified K-12 buildings of any school district in Iowa!
